Doris Brinkhaus
The founder of Brinkhaus Jewellers, Doris Brinkhaus began her professional training in 1972, while working for Oeding Erdel, the Internationally-renowned jewellers based in Muenster, Germany. Soon after, Doris graduated as a Professional Gemmologist and Professional Diamond Grader, with specialized training in the traditions of the infamous Idar-Oberstein, the so-called “gemstone city” or Edelsteinstadt, nestled in deep in the Hunsrück Mountains on the western edge of Germany. Doris moved to North America in 1973 and began working under International designer and goldsmith Mr. Karl Stittgen. Over the next decade, Doris helped found the former family business, Brinkhaus Jewellers, with boutiques in Vancouver, Calgary, and San Francisco. Doris opened the Claremont boutique in Perth in 1984. She now calls Australia home. As an international jewellery designer with an extensive technical background, Doris’ standards have redefined the measure of excellence in Western Australia, creating coveted jewellery that is undeniably and unmistakably Brinkhaus.
